I am Emi Osono of Hitotsubashi ICS. Our annual Conference on Competitiveness have in the past featured the Porter Prize presentation ceremony and lectures and discussions on competitive strategies, but being virtual this year the conference focuses mainly on introducing the winners' strategies. The co-founder of the Porter Prize, Dr. Hirotaka Takeuchi, Harvard University professor and professor emeritus of Hitotsubashi University, is here to say a few words.
I am Hirotaka Takeuchi. Established in 2001, the Porter Prize marks its 20th anniversary this year. Through the years the prize has received support from many people. As a valuable asset of Hitotsubashi ICS, the Porter Prize also plays an important role in promoting the competitive strategies of Japanese companies. I would like to thank Professor Porter for his support over the past 20 years.
